John and June Bicknell arrived with their family in Bendigo in 1977 and in August of 1981 started Bicknells Sports and so began a journey in Sporting Retail. Since the early days Bicknells Sports has experienced many changes, including moving from its original location at Fountain Plaza to the premises in Williamson Street - and in doing so expanding the floor area and the range of products.

David Bicknell started out as a part time junior while attending school and after completing education joined John in the running of the family business. Together over the years John and David have developed Bicknells Sports into a comprehensive sporting store which specializes in a number of areas including footwear, clothing, cricket and fitness and also offers a wide range of gear for all sports.
